2019 SCBA Scholarship Award Winner

On behalf of our selection committee and the California Community Foundation, we are pleased to announce that Thomas Zumberge, a student at Pasadena City College, has been awarded the 2019 SCBA Scholarship Award.

On behalf of our selection committee and the California Community Foundation, we are pleased to announce that Thomas Zumberge, a student at Pasadena City College, has been awarded the 2019 SCBA Scholarship Award.

Thomas has had an impressive 4.0 GPA while attending Pasadena City College as well as being on the Dean’s list for the past two semesters. The selection committee voted for Thomas based on his outstanding productions skills as demonstrated on two demo tapes he submitted. Thomas is truly hoping to begin his Radio career as soon as he graduates in 2020 in both production, interviewing, and editing various subjects and topics. He represents the next generation of Southern California Radio professionals and we are pleased to help him realize his goal.

The criteria for winning the SCBA scholarship is outstanding GPA scores, community involvement, and samples of recorded Radio work that demonstrates a candidates’ interest and desire to develop a career in Radio. The SCBA Scholarship program is managed for the SCBA by the California Community Foundation. Scholarship award funds are a separate budget and are not used from member dues. The award is funded by private donations made to the Scholarship program.

The SCBA is proud to help develop new Southern California Radio professionals for the future.
