SCBA Releases its Quarterly Market Guidance Report for Q4 2019

SCBA Scholarship Fund Applications Now Open

For Immediate Release: SCBA Scholarship Fund Applications Now Open
LOS ANGELES, CA, August 26, 2019 – The Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) announced today that the SCBA Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications from qualified students attending an accredited college or University in Southern California. The criteria for award consideration by the selection committee includes GPA, community service activity, and documented study, interest, and work focused on Broadcast Radio.
The SCBA Scholarship Fund is managed by the California Community Foundation and an independent selection committee. The SCBA Scholarship fund was created with private donations in 2000 to encourage and support Southern California students interested in a Radio career. Three scholarship awards are available each year by the SCBA in honor of three legendary, former Southern California Radio executives; Stan Spero, George Nicholaw, and Ben Hoberman.
“Our SCBA members are committed to developing and training the next generation of Radio greats in management, sales, programming, talent, social media, web development, engineering, event marketing, and promotion,” said Thom Callahan, SCBA President. “With the SCBA Scholarship Fund, our goal is to attract the best and the brightest to Southern California Radio.”

Southern California Broadcasters Association to Host Exclusive Nielsen Audio Auto Research Meetings in Los Angeles and San Diego
Los Angeles, CA, January 22, 2019 – The Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) will be hosting two Auto Research Meetings for Southern California auto dealers, regional factory reps, ad agencies and the press in February. The meetings will showcase the recent automotive consumer research study conducted by Nielsen Audio entitled, “The Real Value of Southern California Radio to the Auto Industry”. The research study meetings will be held in San Diego, CA on Wednesday, February 6 and in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday, February 20. A capacity audience is expected for both cities.
Southern California Broadcasters Association Reports Record Breaking Political Ad Revenue for 2018
Los Angeles, CA, December 31, 2018 – The Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) is reporting record breaking 2018 political ad revenue from its Radio members in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Total political ad revenue for 2018 for the Los Angeles market was $14,669,603 and is a 572.5% increase over 2017 which was $2,181,443. Total political revenue for 2018 for the San Diego market was $2,371,419 and is 1,849.7% increase over 2017 which was $121,629. Total political ad revenue for both markets in 2018 was an impressive $17,041,022, making Southern California the nation's leading political ad revenue powerhouse for the Radio industry in 2018.
